Alleviate People Structure
Alleviate operates two distinct workforce models. Employed staff (admin, HR manager, accountants) are paid directly by the corporation — CPP, EI, and income tax deducted at source. Subcontractors (all clinical practitioners) are independent — they invoice Alleviate, are responsible for their own taxes, HST registration, and professional insurance. This distinction is critical for payroll, tax filing, and legal compliance.

Important Legal Note
These templates are starting points based on Ontario Employment Standards Act requirements. Have all contracts reviewed by an Ontario employment lawyer before use, especially termination clauses. A poorly worded termination clause can expose Alleviate to common law notice obligations far beyond the ESA minimums.
